Mercedes Benz considering CNG engined cars for India
Believe it or not, Mercedes Benz is seriously considering CNG engined cars for India. Apart from making it cheaper to run on CNG than even the cheapest car on Indian roads, the Maruti 800 running on petrol, the alternate fuel also promises to bring down emissions considerably.
TATA MOTOR’S RAISES PRICES OF PASSENGER CARS
Under constant pressure from rising input costs, Tata Motors have finally increased the prices of its passenger car and SUV's by 1-3 percent. The small car Indica, the sedan Indigo and the station wagon Indigo Marina have seen a price hike of 1-2 percent which equates to about Rs. 3400 - Rs. 12,400. The utility vehicles and the SUV's have seen a heftier hike of 2-3 percent. The Sumo and the Safari will now be costlier in the range of Rs. 13,300 to Rs. 35,000.

BMW confirms BMW X1 to be produced in Germany
BMW has confirmed that the BMW X1 will be produced at its Leipzig plant in Germany, though an expected product launch is not finalized yet. Producing the X1 at that plant makes sense as the plant makes the 3-Series and 1-Series, and since the X1 is based largely on the 1-Series with some components from the 3-Series, component logistics would be easier.
The availability of a compact all-wheel drive system for the BMW X1 will also likely result in the BMW 1-Series gaining the option for all-wheel drive sometime in the future, which would be useful to help reign in the BMW 135i's horsepower and torque.
