BSA Motors launches “Edge” and “Roamer Able”
BSA Motors , a Strategic Business Unit of Tube Investments of India (TII) which is part of the Rs. 15,907 crores Murugappa Group, launched its next generation electric scooter BSA Edge at the 10th Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi. Alongwith this launch, the company also unveiled India's first electric scooter designed especially for the differently-abled - BSA Roamer Able . Besides, the company also showcased the technological might with a display of several electric scooters and fast charging systems from their stable.
Edge, the newest addition in the company's e-scooter portfolio, will be attractively priced at Rs. 35, 500 (ex-showroom price Delhi) and is available in 4 attractive colours. With Roamer Able, the company has introduced an in-built reverse mechanism (first time ever in India) which enables the rider to reverse the vehicle with the ease of a switch. Roamer Able will be launched in the Indian market by the end of the month and will be priced at Rs. 35, 300 (ex-showroom price Delhi). It will be available in four eclectic colours.
Special Edition Nano Launched At Auto Expo 2010
Tata has launched two special editions of Nano called "Nano for him" and "Nano for her". The special edition Nano's will be based on top end LX variant. " Nano for him " is available in an exclusive wild lime colour shade. It also gets leather seats and door pads. " Nano for her " comes with decorated interiors - cocktail red spilled over dashboard, seats and central console. Exteriors too get floral pattern to lure the fair sex.

List of Cars Launched At Auto Expo 2010
The 10th Auto Expo has been organized jointly by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Auto Expo is India's and Asia's largest automotive show which will be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from 5th January to 11th January, 2010.

Toyota Corolla Altis CNG Launched
Toyota India has launched the Corolla Altis CNG at the Auto Expo 2010. After Innova's CNG model, the Altis is the next Toyota vehicle to come factory fitted with a CNG kit. Altis has been very well accepted by the customers in India and it is expected that CNG variant will increase the appeal and demand of Altis in Indian Market. Altis CNG is same in terms of engine, design and other mechanicals, only change will be a CNG sticker like in Innova CNG and a little weight increase is expected because of CNG tank.

Maruti Eeco Launched
Maruti Suzuki Versa had never been liking of Indian customers who want affordable, good loooking and comfortable MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle), as it was not a true value for money people mover. And now Maruti Suzuki India has changed all this with the launch of all new MPV - Maruti Eeco . They have launched this new utility vehicle at the Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi. Maruti Eeco resembles more or less same like the Versa. Maruti has also unvieled Eeco Charge. The electric Eeco will be on taxi duty at the 2010 commonwealth games. Eeco Charge is powered by a 5KW lithium ion battery pack which gives the MPV a range of 100kms and pushes it a top-speed of 100kph.
Maruti Suzuki has launched the Eeco MPV at an introductory price of Rs 2.59 lakh for the 5-seater standard model, Rs 2.89 lakh for the 5-seater AC model and Rs. 2.75 lakhs for the 7-seater variant. Maruti Eeco is powered by a 1196cc petrol engine with five speed manual transmission gearbox that produces maximum power of 73 Bhp at 6000 rpm with the maximum torque of 101 Nm at 3000 rpm. This 1196cc power-plant delivers high engine performance and acceleration with excellent fuel efficiency. ARAI test report says that Maruti Eeco offers mileage of 15.1kmpl.

Skoda Yeti Launched
Compact, attractively styled and full of surprises: This is Skoda Yeti . Very similar to the original Yeti concept, seen at Geneva in 2005, the production version adds five doors and a simpler front end, with a traditional Skoda grille and spotlights. Skoda also showcased Yeti Concept at the 2008 Auto Expo in India.
Skoda has finally launched the Yeti at the Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi. This 4.2 metre long, five-door vehicle bears the well-known features of the brand. An impressive front end with a ribbed grille and friendly looking headlamps confidently demonstrate.
Tata Aria Launched
A lot of news is coming from Tata Motors nowadays. Now the latest buzz is that the Tata Aria , an MPV which is based on the existing Safari platform which has been unvieled at the Auto Expo 2010 launch. The Aria would compete head on with the Toyota Innova when its launched. The Aria is a 7-seater and will most likely have the latest 2.2 liter Dicor engine.
The Crossovers have been in great demand with the taxi companies which ferry callcentre and BPO staff thanks to the outsourcing boom witnessed by the country. Toyota Innova, amongst the most successful Crossovers has sold 132,045 units since its launch in 2005. The Aria prototype has been seen road testing close to Pune and the MPV looks rather modern with a large grille and peeled back headlamp which look very indica-ish (the new Indica).
Volkswagen Polo Launched
Volkswagen India has launched the Volkswagen Polo in India at the Auto Expo 2010. It was first unvieled the all new 2009 Polo at the Geneva Auto Show '09. New Polo is available with two engine options and is available in six variants.
- Volkswagen Polo Petrol - 1400cc engine - 75 Bhp Power and 110 Nm Torque
- Volkswagen Polo Diesel - 1200cc engine - 75 Bhp Power and 180 Nm Torque
Both petrol and diesel models are available in 3 variants each - Trendline, Comfortline and top of the line Highline. The top of the line Highline variant comes with Airbags, Alloys, ABS, Climate control, Leather Interiors, Rear washer/wiper & Parking sensors.
Toyota Etios Hatch & Etios Sedan Unvieled
Toyota India has unvieled the Etios - All new small car and sedan concept at the Auto Expo 2010. In addition to India, the Toyota Etios (the name means 'the origin of') hatchback will also be sold in Russia, South America and perhaps other emerging markets. With Honda also set to unveil its new small hatchback for the Indian market during the Expo, the two Japanese biggies will be facing off in a big way and for the first time, the two will be up against each other in the small car market.
Toyota has squeezed out costs of manufacturing Etios wherever possible to make it price-competitive in India and has made it stand at par with Maruti Swift. Etios will be come with two engine options - a 1.4-liter diesel that powers the Yaris and a 1.2- or 1.3-liter gasoline unit. Toyota also has 1.3L petrol engine (K3 series) but has not made it clear whether it will be downsized to 1.2L to meet the small car regulation norms to save on excise duty.
