Honda Launches CBR250R in India

Mumbai, March 22, 2011: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), the 100% owned 2-wheeler subsidiary of the Honda Motor Company, Japan – the world’s largest manufacturer of 2-wheelers, shall release its long awaited global Road-Sport motorcycle “CBR250R” in April, 2011. Honda’s first affordable global sports bike - CBR250R marks the Company’s entry in high performance 250cc segment in India. CBR250R will have the largest engine displacement of any vehicle produced by HMSI. Taking India to the global platform, CBR250R will be exclusively manufactured and exported worldwide from India &Thailand.

Background - Honda’s development team realized that riders now want much more and demand for 250cc models is higher than ever. Based on understanding customer needs, the goal was to create a 250cc model that can meet the bring the fun of riding to riders of all kinds, ranging from entry level riders who aspire to upgrade to seasoned riders who already have the large motorcycle experience. Thus came Honda CBR250R- the perfect companion of riding enthusiasts who desire ‘To Know the Unknown.’

Lightning Performance - The newly developed liquid-cooled 250cc 4-stroke 4-valve single-cylinder DOHC engine of CBR250R delivers excellent performance of 25 BHP and is easy to handle.

Advanced Technology - With 27 pending patented technologies, CBR250R is a bike of many technological firsts. CBR250R is world first in high performance 250cc category incorporating Combined ABS . New 2011 Honda Accord Launched in India

A Honda car has unveiled a redesigned variant of its Accord sedan. The refreshed Honda Accord now attributes novel exterior upgrades such as novel grill alongwith chrome accents, extra chrome garnish at back & a slightly personalized & re-profiled front bumper. Honda Recalls 57853 Citys

Honda Siel India will callback its City sedan to exchange a damaged part in the valvetrain. Japanese car manufacture has proclaimed which Honda cars would carry out preventive portion substitution of lost motion spring in valve train for 57853 units of the City produced from November 2008 - Dec 2009. The 3rd young gen Honda City requires a replacement of lost motion springs that are compressed via rocker arms in simple engine use. These springs can break or bend overtime resulting in irregular engine noise & potentially causing engine stalling & problems in re-starting. Honda India will carry out the alternate free of cost & company will communicate directly alongwith owners of the affect vehicles. A Honda car has also produced a microsite on its Indian site which enables the users or consumers to check whether their vehicles are unnatural. Honda India to Launch CR-V and Accord Diesel Soon

Honda is going to launch diesel versions of its popular Accord and CR-V in the marketplace very soon. Many automobile industry experts feel that BMW X1 has hampered the sales of both cars in India. The news flash of Honda Accord diesel launch is in the market since the year now, when the Japanese based company decided to go against its policy of only petrol vehicles in India strategy. But, according to the latest information from many automobile dealers who claimed that the company ha trained some mechanics on maintaining the diesel engine cars.

The industry source says that the two models will get a diesel variant by mid-2011 in Indian Auto market which will accelerate fine demand for these car models in market. If the sources are to be believed the diesel engine would be the 2.2L i-Dtec producing about 180 Bhp. The engine to be used in the Honda CR-V and Accord Diesel is expected to carry a good localised content which will help the corporation keep a excellent control on input cost of the model. The increased localised content will help the company in maintaining a good price benefit and along with that Honda will also have to work on bigger selling strategies.

Honda New Civic Gets Sunroof

Honda India has launched the new Honda Civic with sunroof in presence of famous Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh along with Mr. Tatsuya Natsume, Director, Marketing and Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Marketing, Vice President, HSCI. The introduction of sunroof gives the car an impressive panoramic feeling making it look brighter and bigger. The Sunroof was found to be the most attractive feature in the Civic based on the customer’s feedback.

Honda Civic will have a new shade Urban Titanium along with the existing colors available in the range. Speaking on the event of Honda Civic, Mr. Tatsuya Natsume, Director, Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India Limited. told that they are pleased to introduce the new Civic with sunroof which further augments the flair quotient of the car and make it even more desirable. Honda recalling 2,277 Accord and CR-V

Honda has announced that it is recalling 2,277 Accord and CR-V models for an electrical coupling that may have been damaged while the engine was being inserted in the vehicles. If this is the situation, the engine could stall during normal operation. The situation impacts certain 2010 Honda Accord and CR-V models, and as of right now, no injuries or accidents have been reported owing to the problem. Still, Honda says that it's significant for owners who are notified of the recall to take their vehicles in for inspection. Honda is expected to repair or replace the connector released of charge. New Honda Civic Concept Revealed at Detroit 2011!

Honda unrevealed this pair of Civic Concepts at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, which will preview the Honda Civic Saloon and Civic Coupe for the 2012 variant year in the US. Although these Sedan and Coupe cars have the word Concept tagged onto their names, I feel they are pretty much close to production. Honda has not given it all away though – no interior photos have been unveiled except for one small sketch they showed for a brief moment during the press conference. The formula actually looks very much the same with this new Honda Civic as compared to the outgoing 8th generation model. I would not be surprised if much of the underpinnings of this new 9th generation Civic is similar to the 8th generation. The saloon’s side profile looks more alike to the outgoing variants, but the coupe takes on a more aggressive side profile that takes after its older Honda Accord Coupe sibling.

The Civic Sedan’s front end looks similar to the 8th gen but the back end gets a lot of work done to it – it is the part of the car that has changed the most and looks the best. The interior has not been revealed yet but will feature the same double-stacked displays in the current Civic. In the US, the Honda Civic will be available in various forms – the sporty high revving Si models, the natural gas powered GX, the regular Civics as well as a Civic Hybrid. The Hybrid variant will nonstop to use Honda’s IMA system but will feature lithium ion batteries along with the newest revision of the system. Eco Assist wont only be limited to the Hybrid but will also be a feature on the regular gasoline-only variants. Eco Assist is essentially an on-board fuel efficiency display and feedback system planned to educate the driver on how to drive more efficiently. It looks like Honda has not messed around with the formula of the current Honda Civic much but I hope the updates to the looks come together with improvements under the skin as well – you can never go wrong with more reliability, fuel efficiency, features and safety. Unfortunately we can not really tell from these concepts as they only show the external aesthetics of the new car.

2011 Honda Civic comes with an optional Sun Roof now

Honda Civic is due for a facelift anytime now with the Civic all set to be brought to the country. Arch competitor Toyota pulled off a quick one by shoehorning a diesel engine into the Corolla Altis’s engine bay on one hand and on the other with price cut of the Petrol Corolla Altis. This double edged move has seen the Corolla Altis selling more than three times than the Honda Civic, much to Honda SIEL’s chagrin.

To make sweeter the deal for prospective Civic customers and to also usher in new Civic buyers, the Honda Civic’s V version will come with an optional plant fitted electric sunroof with blue interior ambient lighting. Along with this, customers would also be able to opt for a few other dealer fitted extras like the rear sun curtain, illuminated side step beautify and rain protecting side door visorr at the choice of the Civic buyer. Now, whether this shift will actually put the wind back into the Civic’s sails is debatable, the Honda Civic loyalists might just find the sunroof a recent addition to still stand by the Civic.

Honda Fit Shuttle Leaked – Jazz Wagon is The New Airwave!

Some of you might know the Honda Airwave, a wagon version of the Jazz and City brought in by grey importers. That compact station wagon (as it was called by Honda) was launched to the Japanese market in 2005 and was based on the previous generation Honda Jazz, so with the B-segment hatchback being replaced, a “new Airwave” was expected. Well, here it is, with a new name. These leaked brochures show an elongated version of the Jazz, which is called Fit in its home market. The Fit Shuttle won’t be mistaken as a spin off from any other model, as it retains much of the Jazz’s distinctive looks, both front and back. The forward leaning “fin” (the C-pillars) from the Airwave have become full length items, and is the most glaring design cue on the flanks.

The brochures show two variants – a 1500cc i-VTEC powered Type 15X and a Hybrid model. The latter’s drivetrain combines a 1.3L engine with Honda’s battery powered IMA system, which should be identical to that in the Jazz Hybrid and Insight. Those flat wheelcaps look as if they are chosen for aerodynamics, not aesthetics. The dashboard is similar to the Honda Jazz. No mention on whether the boot space with all five seats in place beats the Airwave’s 473 litres.
