All Time High Sales of Mercedes in Feb’11

Mercedes India also catapulted its growth through recording the greatest ever Feb sales. The luxury car manufacturer company has broken last year's sales figures for the month of Feb this year selling 662 units equally compare to 439 units it sold similar month in last year. It has registered a 51 percent from previous year. The record breaking numbers are mostly due to Mercedes C-Class sales.

The Mercedes C-Class experienced 110% growth in the sales alongwith 362 units (Jan 2010 = 172 units) although the flagship Mercedes E Class sold units 230 (Feb 2010 = 161 units). The SUV's also upped their own sales alongwith GL selling 23 units (Feb 2010=11) & the ML & R-Class selling a mixed figure of 27 units. '2011 started on a amazing note for us & with enhanced sales figures we're delighted that users appreciate our brand value & have further more helped us in attaining this benchmark,' Mercedes-Benz India's MD and CEO, Peter T Honegg, alleged in a statement. Mercedes India Launches G-Class Wagen

Mercedes India unveiled the G-Class Wagen that is short for Gelandewagen (cross country vehicle) at Juhu Aerodrome in Mumbai. Widely called the Mercedes G-Class, the version upcoming to India is the high performance luxury car tuned G55. The G55 has a 5500cc fuel V8 under the exhaust hood developing 507 bhp at 6100 rpm & 71.4kgm of maximum torque at 2750 rpm. The G-Class Wagen can hit the 100 kph mark in simple 5.5 sec that is remarkable for a Sport Utility Vehicle tipping scales at 2.5 mg.

Mercedes Gearing-up for its 125th Ceremony

Mercedes-Benz, the Germany based leading luxury car manufacturer is gearing-up to celebrate its 125th anniversary on 29th January, 2011. The vehicle maker is speculated to disclose a brand new design concept, in a bid to make the occasion unforgettable. The new car would borrow many of its designing cues from the F800 concept that was 1st showcased at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show. As per industry informations, the newly designed concept won’t be christened as 'F900' but will carry a traditional name instead. The date of twenty ninth January carries great impact for the company as exactly 125 years ago, Karl Benz was given a patent for his Motorwagen.

Mercedes reveals new SLK

Mercedes has issued official details of its new SLK, following the car’s accidental presentation on a French-language video late last year. Set to make its debut at Merc’s 125th anniversary celebrations in Stuttgart at the end of this month, the two-seat roadster has a new rear-wheel drive platform, a diesel version and what engineers claim is a more sporting chassis. It also looks less violent than the outgoing model. The new SLK continues to eschew a fabric roof for a reworked variant of the old model’s folding hard-top. It now presents the choice of a standard aluminum, fixed-tint glass or electro-magnetic variable-tint glass panel. Inside, there’s an angular new rushboard, modeled on that of the SLS, with distinctive vents, reworked instruments, more contemporary switchgear and a new range of trims. 3 petrol engines are confirmed for the launch. They include a duo of turbocharged 1.8-litre vehicles, producing 184bhp in the SLK200 and 204bhp in the SLK250.

The SLK200 has a claimed 0-62mph time of 7.0sec and gets a standard six-speed manual gearbox. Topping the launch line-up will be the SLK350, which characteristics Mercedes’ new V6. The 3500cc direct-injection engine kicks out the same 306bhp as the unit it replaces in the SLK line-up. But in combination with a normal seven-speed automatic and a number of fuel-saving features, including stop-start, it offers vastly improved performance and economy. The SLK350 combined 39.8mpg and has a claimed 0-62mph time of 5.6sec. The new SLK is also set to offer a diesel engine: a double-turbo, 2100cc four-pot with 204bhp. A replacement for the SLK55 is also destined for the UK by the end of the year. It will use a normally aspirated version of AMG’s new 5.5-litre V8, producing close to 420bhp. Expect the SLK to be unveiled in India curtly after the global launch.

Mercedes Benz India registers a sales jump of 80 percent in 2010

Mercedes Benz India, one of the largest lavishness auto makers in the country, has posted a jump of over 80 percent in its sales in calendar year 2010. The corporation sold a sum of 5,819 units of its cars during this year as compared to 3,250 units sold in the same month previous year. The Mercedes E-Class and C-Class were the key development drivers during this period at 2490 units and 2070 units, respectively. In Dec 2010, Mercedes Benz India posted its maximum monthly sales ever in the Indian market at 710 units in comparison to 334 vehicles sold in the same month last year, accounting a growth of about 115 percent. The sales of company’s E-Class, C-class and utility automobile section vehicles stood at 371 units, 141 units and 127 units, respectively, during this month. As per the company, its strategy focused on providing a comprehensive product portfolio in the Indian market along with delivering the highest value to the customer as well as ensuring world class sales, after sales and automobile ownership experience.” These initiatives joined with aggressive product launches and network enhancement to smaller towns and cities have rewarded the strong traction with Indian market in 2010," the company official said.

2012 Mercedes C-Class Details Revealed

German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz will introduce its face-lifted 2012 C-Class sedan at the 2011 Detroit car Show in January 2011 and will begin shipping of cars to U.S. dealers next summer. The car will arrive at the same time in India, too. But, the company has revealed some preliminary details of the car ahead of its Detroit Auto Show premier. According to Mercedes Benz, the revamped C-Class has 11 different models both petrol and diesel with power ranging from 120 to 306 hp.

Either a standard manual six-speed transmission or a seven-speed automatic transmission 7G-Tronic Plus can be chosen. Also, all the upgraded C-Class models are to be offered with rear-wheel drive and a start-stop function. It gets a new C250 CDI diesel variant as well as a new V6 gasoline engine for the Mercedes C350 Blue competence that can churn out 306 hp and 370 Nm. Despite the 14 hp and 5 Nm increase from the prior model, the fuel consumption is claimed to be 31% lower than the previous one. The front and rear end of the popular Mercedes sedan have been improved with a more distinctive design. The interior is now emphasized by the stylish new dashboard, which features a premium, fine-grain finish and stylish trim elements, as well as a high-resolution color display in the instrument cluster.
