Tata Motors India has launched its next young gen city car concept, the Tata Pixel. Unleashed at the eighty-one Geneva Motor Show via Ratan Tata, Tata Pixel is an urban vehicle concept mainly enhanced or the Europe. Based on the Tata Nano, the Tata Pixel is just over 3 metres in length & when Tata reaches India in 3 years from nowadays, it'll be up against Maruti Alto. The rear-engine Tata Pixel is powered via a 1200cc litre three cylinder turbo charged diesel car. Tata cars claims this down friction design motor alongwith optimized low rolling-resistance tyres, sleek drag, stop-start technology & good battery charging, will be 1 of cleanest vehicles running on Europe.

The design & engineering - the work of Tata's in-house engineers - integrates scissor doors & big glass area, comprising a panoramic roof. The car is cleanest engineering trick is a scheme that helps the outer back wheel forwards & the inner back wheel rearwards when turning at sharp angles. The setup gives the Tata Pixel with turning radius of now 2.6 meters. Tata Motors Launches Manza Elan

A Tata car has unveile new series of its Tata Manza sedan. Tata Manza has minor tweaks on the outter area that is coupled with new appearance twin tone interior view. The cost will be across all Tata dealerships from Feb7, 2011. The Tata Manza has alloy wheels as normal, dual tone burgundy & soft touch plastics, beige interiors, chrome surrounding the front mist lights, chrome garnished bottom climate strip, novel seat fabrics & new color shade - Tyrian wine.

In refreshed Manza, the 'Indigo' badge has now become smaller with Tata 'Manza' dominating mostly the silverware. Tata Manza Elan also gets a new topend version that has been christened as Tata Manza Elan. There're no modifications in the engine & the new Tata Manza is powered via the same 1300cc 88.7bhp Quadrajet diesel & the 1400cc 88.7bhp Safire petrol car. The vehicle has been competitively rated, starting at the price of Rs 5.14 lakhs for the Model of Safire fuel range, whereas the Quadrajet diesel range initiating from Rs 5.91 lakhs (prices Ex-showroom, Delhi).

Tata to Launch Manza Elan

Tata Motors is going to inagurate a revamped version of its entry level sedan Indigo Manza very soon. The new facelifted Manza will come with some enhancive changes in its interior which the company is trying to make more easy for the passengers that the current edition available in the market. But, according to some insider, the company is planning about dropping the Indigo name and rename it with Manza Elan. According to the some source, Tata Motors wishes to create a new brand identity for Manza. So, it has been mulling over the idea of moving away from the Indigo name for quite a time now.

Tata Motors had launched Indigo Manza in the year 2009 to increase the sales in mid to luxury car segment. The Indigo Manza presents good value for money as it comes packed with loads equipments and features. It competes with the car likes Swift Dzire and Ford Fiesta. Like its offsprings the Vista, the Manza uses Fiat engines – the 1.3-litre multi-jet and the 1.4-litre FIRE engine from the Linea. Indigo Manza comes with class leading feature – steering mounted audio control, integrated MP3 player, electrically adjustable ORVM, height adjustable driver seat, tilt steering, Driver Information system, ABS and double front airbags.

Greaves Cotton to supply diesel engines to TATA Motors

Engineering company Greaves Cotton said it has won a 10 year agreement from TATA Motors to supply small diesel engines for its new half-tonne truck Ace Zip which is expected to be launched in the first quarter of this financial year. Mr Prabhakar Dev MD and chief executive of Greaves Cotton said that "Greaves has developed a 0.6 litre engine for TATA Motors ' new truck. It will also provide CNG engines for the truck.” Greaves Cotton is supplying engines to Piaggio for its four-wheeler truck Ape as part of an eight-year contract.

The company also meets the diesel engine requirement of three wheeler makers including Piaggio, Mahindra & Mahindra, Atul Auto and Scooters India. Greaves Cotton plans to build a new engine manufacturing plant at Aurangabad in Maharashtra at an investment of INR 100 crore to meet the rising demand for engines. The statement said that this will get the company's total automotive engine manufacturing capacity to 400,000 vehicles per annum.

The Tata Motors Group global sales including Jaguar Land Rover, were 90,294 numbers. In December 2010, an enlargement of 21% over December 2009. Global sales of all passenger vehicles were 42,126 numbers. in December 2010, higher by 13 percent. Global sales of Jaguar Land Rover in December 2010 were 21,353 vehicles, higher by 1percent. Jaguar sales for the month were 4,332 nos., lower by 10 percent, while Land Rover sales were 17,021 nos., higher by 4 percent. Growing sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal are 175,442 nos., higher by 28%.

Cumulative sales of Jaguar are 42,952 nos., higher by 18%, while increasing sales of Land Rover are 132,490 numbers., higher by 32%. Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars were 20,773 numbers. For the month, higher by 28 percent. Tata Motors has had a beneficial year and the coming year will witness a lot more launches. The Vista is powered by 90hp - Petrol as it is called will be launched soon and the all new Tata Safari too is in the pipeline. We look forward to both these cars from the Tata Motors stable as they will pave the way to another profitable year for the company.

Tata Nano to come with CVT in November 2011

Tata’s vision was to make the Nano the most reasonable car which is simple to drive and own. The vision is still unfinished as Tata is not offering Automatic Transmission on the Nano that promises to make the ‘first time’ driver’s life a lot easier. All that may be about to modify as Autocar India is reporting that the Nano team is working on a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) variant of the Nano that will provide the best drivability for the ordinary man. Tata Nano Red Tata Motors is discussing the idea with a Canada-based company to make the gearless dream a reality. Benoit-Jean Bernard, director, Quebec office, counsulate general of Canada in Mumbai - Tata has already invested huge amount in Canada’s Quebec province and is in the process of signing a deal for dispatch of parts for gearless Nano with C-tech, a Montreal-based auto component maker.

According to information, the two companies have been working together on this project for two years now. Essentially a Nano CVT gearbox is an automatic gearbox with endless gear ratios. It uses a set of wheels or cones and a belt to create these endless gear ratios. As a result, the engine can run competently at appropriate rpms for a wide number of car speed. This provides better mileage and a comfort driving experience than a traditional automatic. CVT is not new to India, Honda used to provide it on their big City. But Tata will expose the massive potential for CVT gearboxes in India if it introduces it in the Nano. The month predicted for launch of CVT Nano is November 2011.

Tata Motors Fails to Deliver One Lakh Nanos in 2010

Tata Motors has missed the delivery target of its small car Nano to the 1st one lakh customers, who booked the car through a lottery system in 2009. Tata had selected 1.55 lakh consumers in 2009 for the delivery of the car in 2 phases. The delivery of 1st one lakh car was supposed to be achieved by the end of 2010. Since the beginning of deliveries in July 2009, Tata Motors has delivered only 77,000 cars till the end of December 2010, which also includes buyers from the 2nd phase and the open sales.

“There could be several customers waiting for deliveries, but at their own choice. We had informed everyone that the car was ready,” a Tata Motors spokesperson said. When queried about cancellations, he said, “There may be some cancellations as well, but some have postponed taking deliveries”.

The Tata recently started pan-India open sales of the Nano and boosted the sales from 509 units in November to 5,784 units in December. In July 2010, Tata Motors sold 9,000 units of the Nano, but the sales started to diminish regularly. After various fire accidents, Tata Motors announced a 4 year or 60,000 km manufacturing warranty on Nano to woo the customer. The company also requested Tata Nano buyers to bring back their cars to add safety features.

Tata Nano To Feature In Singapore’s ‘The India Show’

Tata Nano is going places. ‘The India Show’ to be held in Singapore next week will feature a presentation by Tata Technologies on Nano as a role model, Tata said in a statement. The show displays Indian entrepreneurial and innovation expertise in various industries. Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma would also be leading a 80-CEO delegation to ‘The India Show',to be held January 14 to 18 at the Suntec Convention Centre. Tata India Technologies will give presentation on Tata Nano LX car model, the top end car version as its is an all weather small car that will be showcased in the show.

Tata Nano forms part of Tata Technologies ‘Better Innovation’, a road show launched on January 14, 2010, at the Detroit Science Centre during the week of the North American International Automotive Show in Detroit, Michigan. Tata Nano has been in news since its launch, be it the political unrest or the increasing safety issues or the price hike. But this small wonder has been able to capture the world attention with its technology. Even when the US President Barack Obama visited India previous year, he and his wife saw the small car and appreciated its making. Currently, in India it is again stabilizing its sales with various interesting schemes and offers on it and the new added safety features.

Tata Ace EV Mini Truck Ready For UK Launch

First it was Indica Vista EV, now the owner of Jaguar Land Rover, Tata motors, are going to launch Ace Mini Truck’s EV (electric vehicle) version in UK very soon. Both were developed at Tata European Technical Centre in Coventry and will be assembled in the Midlands. The centre plays a significant role in R&D, especially electric and hybrid, for much bigger names.

The electric motor in the vehicle produces 25 kW of maximum power and 75 Nm of maximum torque. The Ace EV is powered by a 85 Ah battery that takes 8 hours for a full charge. With a top speed of 40kph and a range of 72km, the Tata Ace EV boasts to be the first electric mini truck in the world. Ace EV is the second electric vehicle to be launched in UK Market by Tata Motors besides the Tata Indica Vista EV passenger car. The Ace EV is the first electric LCV to arrive, but an FFH (faster, further, heavier) model in the 3,500kg GVW class is scheduled for two years’ time. A decision on whether to bring other models, including Tata’s latest conventionally powered Xenon pickup to the UK has still to be made.

Singur locals offer full cooperation to Tatas to set up a plant

The Indian auto giant Tata Motors which had withdrawn the manufacturing units of its small car Nano from Singur in 2009, is now receiving assurance of full cooperation from locals of Singur for setting up a new plant. The locals of Singur have prompted the company to meeting the representatives for the same. In response, the company has indicated that it will meet Representatives of Singur locals who had given land for Tata Nano’s production plant before the company’s withdrawal from the state due to a series of violent farmer agitations.

In a response to a letter by president of the Singur Shilpa Vikash Unnayan Committee, Uddayan Das, Tata Motors Vice President (Govt. Affairs and Collaborations) A S Puri said, "I can call on you during one of my visits to Kolkata.”

The letter was written to the Tata Motors on November 11, in which Mr. Das had apprised the company of the locals' changed attitude towards Tata's enterprise. "We never thought that inspite of completion of 85 per cent of total project work; you would take such a painful decision to close the (Nano) project," Mr. Das wrote. Meanwhile, the company has opened the direct sales of its small car Tata Nano at its 874 sales outlets spread across the Indian market. Tata Nano sales stood at 5,784 units in December 2010.
