TVS Apache ABS Launch Next Month
Just recently Honda has announced the CBR250R with ABS, which would be the first bike in India to sport ABS. However sources close to TVS Motors have confirmed about the company’s plans to launch the Apache 180 with ABS. Enthusiasts might recollect the Apache 180 ABS from the 2010 Auto Expo where it was displayed for the first time. Expect the TVS Apache 180 ABS to cost Rs. 8000/- more than the non-ABS bike.
Solar powered bike introduced
TriAuto Bike, an all new invention done by the engineering students is just outstanding possessing three different sources of energy; it can run with solar power, engine, and electric battery. However, it is still a idea developed by some strange students of H.K.B.K College of Banglore, as per media reports. Now when the model is all ready, the four developers are looking for some company which can recognise their capacity and channelize it for mutual benefits. It is to be noted that battery operated two-wheeler are being sold by TVS, Indus, BSA, Ultra Motors, EKO, Global Motors, etc.; nevertheless, no manufactures have come with solar powered bikes in India.
The four students who contributed to the development of this astonishing model are Syed Fahad Ahmed, Mohammed Isham, Ejaz Pasha and Visrant Choudhary of H.K.B.K. College of Bangalore. Dr. J. Fazlur Rehman is known to be the mentor of the students. The bike developed is a ideal model as per today's requirement being environment friendly. It is completely efficient and is made able to run with petrol - I.C. Engine, electricity through mains and solar power through solar panels. The bike being loaded with efficiency is to cost 15 paise/km only and is tagged with an reasonable price range of Rs. 30,000. Other popular bikes by TVS are TVS Apache Hyper Edge, TVS Scooty Pep+, TVS Wego and TVS Centra. The students have also been awarded a prize money of Rs. 51,000 by Mr. S.P. Shah of FADA at the Relio Quick Automall 2010. As per the statements of Syed Fahad Ahmed, a member of developing team, it is known that the model was developed by these four friends in their final semester of engineering. The students were to work on some project using the earlier studied skills and these four decided to work with automobile and kept the aspect of making it environment friendly as the most important.
TVS to launch TVS Wego in Tamil Nadu
TVS Motor Company is all set to launch its already popular TVS Wego scooter in Tamil Nadu by early next year. The scooter is, now, available in some parts of the country but still Tamil Nadu and some eastern region are not provided with the product. Due to TVS Wego's great demand in the market, the company is planning to increase the capacity of its Hosur plant situated in Tamil Nadu. The current production capacity of the plant is around 12,000 vehicles that is planned to increase upto 20,000 vehicles.
The company's Hosur manufacturing facility is being used for the production of its scooterette segment that includes TVS Wego, TVS Scooty Teenz, TVS Scooty Teenz Electric and also the most famous of the company TVS Scooty Pep+. The reason being for establishing a new facility in Tamil Nadu is the increasing demands for the company's Wego and other scooterette range in the state. With this the second largest manufacturer of the country plans to soon introduce its scooters range to some of the eastern parts as well. The motive of the successful company is to explore all the parts of the country with its efficient models. As per the statements of President of TVS Motor Company, it is enquired that the famous company is also planning to launch its new TVS Wego in Tamil Nadu in earlier months of the approaching year. In the month of November, TVS Motors experienced a growth of 27 percent with its all alluring and impressive models.
TVS To Expand Hosur Plant For Wego
The South Indian auto giant and India’s second largest two-wheeler maker, TVS Motor company is facing high demand for its scooter TVS Wego in domestic market. So, the company is planning to expand its manufacturing plan at Hosur in Tamil Nadu to meet the huge demand. TVS Wego was introduced in Indian market last year.
Now backed by huge demand, the Hosur-headquartered company plans to increase its capacity at its plant for manufacture of Wego, TVS Motor Company President (Marketing and Sales) H S Goindi said. “Tamil Nadu is the largest market for us. We plan to launch Wego in Tamil Nadu market by January or February 2011,” he told PTI. Currently, Wego is not available in Tamil Nadu and some eastern regions in the country. “The capacity will be improved at the Hosur plant particularly for Wego..”, he said, declining to elaborate on the proposed investments for rising the capacity.

Good times at TVS
Two-wheeler vehicles manufacturers in the country are busy catering the vertical rise in demand for their products. Just yeterday we reported that TVS motors has had a twenty sevan percent rise in sales figures in november over the same time last year. Looks like its the same recipe in every kitchen. India biggest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Honda has reported a 10.5% increase in sales for november. They say it is difficult to acheive a huge improvement when you are at the top but Hero Honda has shown how its done. Their sales figure stand at 4,21,366 vehicles as opposed to 3,81,378 vehicles last novemeber, an increase of almost 40,000 vehicles!
Suzuki's indian subsidary has seen an even bigger growth of seventy seven percent due to the success of their latest small bike, Suzuki Slingshot. The highest rise in sales however, has been recorded by Mahindra two-wheelers who recently launched their small bike Stallio in the market. Mahindra two wheelers has reported a mindblowing 125% increase in sales after they sold 15,854 units against a tiny figure of just 1706 units last year.

TVS Showcases Velocity 160 Street Fighter
TVS recently displayed the Velocity 160 Street Fighter concept at the Jakarta Motorcycle Show. It is basically a modified version of the Apache RTR 160, it also looks somewhat similar to the Yamaha FZ16 especially from the front. This street-fighter avatar of the Apache RTR 160 has huge front petal disc brakes, upside down forks, a non-faired front, wide tyres and wait for it, a rear mono-shock as the hallmarks of its design. The Velocity 160 streetfighter concept has been shown so as to gauge the initial reaction of the Indonesian public towards such a design.

TVS TRU4 Engine Oil Launched
TVS Motor has launched a semi synthetic four stroke engine oil in India. The TRU4 Premium will offer better fuel economy, longer engine life and lower emission levels. TVS TRU4 comes with higher standard of certification from Japanese Automotive Standards Organization (JASO MA2) and American Petroleum Institute (API SL). TVS TRU4 Premium is blended with highly purified water white, high viscosity index base oils. The TRU4 Premium engine oil is available in one liter and 900ml packs and is priced Rs. 235 per litre.
TVS Motor Sells 195,271 Units, Posts 48% Growth in October 2010
Robust demand for its products across all segments of the two and three wheeler industries has enabled TVS India Company to post a total sales growth of 48 percent in October 2010. Cumulative total sales for the period April to October 2010 therefore stood at 1,184,065 units.
Two Wheeler - During the month, total 2 wheeler sales of the company grew by 46 percent with sales of 191,822 units against 131,029 units registered in October last year. Cumulative two wheeler sales for the period April - October 2010 increased 34 percent with sales of 1,162,861 units over 868,509 units in April to October 2009. Domestic sales of the company grew importantly by 45 percent with sales growing from 118,563 units in October 2009 to of 173,771 units in October 2010. Scooter sales led the growth quotient with a substantial increase of 58 percent from 28,301 units in October 2009 to 44,659 units in the current month. Motorcycles sales too grew by an impressive 49 percent with sales increasing from 56,465 units in October 2009 to 84,233 units in October.
Three Wheeler - The company sold 3,449 units of TVS King in October 2010 against 912 units in the comparable period of the 2009.

TVS India has launched all new Apache RTR Hyper Edge. It’s long time TVS has not done anything with the Apache. And this time too TVS has not done anything new with Apache Hyper edge. The motorcycle remain same as earlier RTR 160 only “HyperEdge” sticker on the tank flaps.Design stripes on the tank, front fender and back tail panel.Apache RTR 160 Hyper Edge comes with the same specification of Apache RTR 160.
