Yamaha Scooters Neo, Fino and Spark Coming to India!
Yamaha Motor Company, Japan had announced their intention of getting its global scooters in
India, at the Auto Expo Show 2010 held in Delhi this year. And this intent is soon going to be a reality as the company has now finished the feasibility studies in order to introduce and make its models successful in India. In the initial stage, the company plans on getting a range of scooters from 0.05cc to 0.5cc to the Indian market to test the market response.The first three scooters from Yamaha which will most likely be launching will be the 50cc Yamaha Neo, 115cc Yamaha Fino and the 135cc Yamaha Spark. A select few numbers of these three models will be sold into the market through select Yamaha dealers.
Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Yamaha Motor National Busines Head, India had earlier
stated, “We are studying the market to enter the scooter segment but we have not finalised the product line yet. However, one thing is sure that we will launch scooters in India. The feasibility study is mostly focusing on the model to be introduced and possible time to Market the product in the country and the feasibility study is expected to complete by mid of 2010. We are evaluating whether a model from our existing global scooter portfolio will be launched here or a completely new product will be developed for the Indian market.”
Now with the company having done all the research, we may soon see Yamaha scooters zooming on our streets. Honda has been making fat profits by selling its scoots in the country, and we are sure, with its quality and innovation, Yamaha too will do good numbers in the scooter market here.
Yamaha to launch scooters in India
Yamaha is finally convinced to launch its scooters in Indian market. In Asian region, Yamaha is one of the leader in scooter segment. However in the indian context, Yamaha remains centered around its motorcycles. Few years back, Yamaha showcased it scooter range to gauge the response from the customer. However there is no official confirmation from India yamaha team.
Yamaha is all set to enter the scooter space. “We have completed the feasibility study and plan to launch new gearless scooters in the Indian market shortly,” India Yamaha Motors National Business Head, Pankaj Dubey, said. “We will enter the market with exciting products in the scooter segment.
We are confident that our products will do well…gearless scooters are more in demand in the market,” Dubey added. Indian scooter market is dominated by the likes of TVS Scooty Pep+, Honda, Mahindra and Suzuki. Bajaj exited the scooter market few years back.

Yamaha YZF R15 One Make Race Championship
India's one of the top most premium bikes manufacturer, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., After successfully zooming through four rounds of Yamaha YZF R15 One Make Race Championship, the company is set to organize the fifth & final round of the championship. The final round of 5 leg championship, organized as part of SIDVIN-FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2010, will be held on 4th and 5th December at Madras Motor Race Track in Sriperumbudur. This year, Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship was open to participation from both Yamaha and Non-Yamaha customers.
Riding on Yamaha’s Super Sports YZF-R15, the contestants experienced the breathtaking acceleration of the bikes on a race circuit. Loaded with true Yamaha Motors DNA – Performance, Innovation & Design, YZF-R15 provided complete racing experience to the biking enthusiasts and hands on feel of its riding, cornering and braking abilities. Yamaha made their experience more exciting by mounting Daytona Racing kits in the bikes. The racing kit includes Racing Exhaust system, Racing ECU (Engine Control Unit), High Lift Cam Shaft and Petal shaped large Disc. These kits are developed using valuable experience gained from MotoGP racing and are designed exclusively for racing purposes in a closed circuit.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Yutaka Terada, Director – Sales & Marketing, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. said, “All the four rounds of Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship have been very exciting. We are very happy with the level of participation and responses from our customers. Our mission is to revolutionize the biking culture in India by giving Indian youth an exposure of international level racing competition and we commit to continue to organize more such racing events in the future.”
Two riders (One from each Class: NOVICE & EXPERT) will be given a chance to participate in the “YAMAHA ASEAN CUP RACE” to be held in Malaysia later this month. The riders can further get a chance to compete in “ASIA ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE 600cc Class” based on their performance in Yamaha ASEAN Cup Race-2010. Rider selected based on his results in the ASIA ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE 600cc Class can make his Life Time Dream come true as he could get a chance to participate in the Grand Prix.
The technology in YZF-R15 has percolated from YZF-R1: Deltabox frame, Fuel Injection, 6 speed gearbox, styling, Liquid Cooled 4V engine. Just like R1: it is light weight-has power on demand -besides having centralized mass, stopping power, aerodynamics, ergonomics and stability, rigidity, It also has the controllability and maneuverability to maximize riding, cornering, braking performance.

Yamaha India Introduces Riding Clinic
Yamaha has introduced another international event, Riding Clinic to the Indian market. The Clinic was organized in association with Yamaha Motor Japan and Madras Motor Sports Club, during November 21st to 23rd. Yamaha India had specially invited an Ex-GP rider, Mr.Osamu Miyazaki to conduct this Clinic in India and share his knowledge with young enthusiast riders. The clinic was conducted for 3 days for a batch of twenty four riders to ensure sufficient time for theory and practical training. The riders were trained on Basic bike check up, Daytona Racing Kit parts, Correct Riding posture, the Right racing line, Braking, Cornering etc. The clinic helped them gain good knowledge about proper riding techniques and improve upon their skills.
All the riders participating in Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship & Yamaha Riding Clinic will be evaluated on the basis of their performance. The best performing riders (One from each Class: 1-Novice & 1-Expert) will get exposure to International Competition, as they would be given a chance to represent India and participate in the Yamaha ASEAN Cup Race to be held in Malaysia in end of this year. The overall objective of these activities is to develop excellent riders and eventually produce GP rider from the country. These events also give an opportunity to Yamaha consumers to experience & enjoy the unmatched Yamaha technology and enhance their satisfaction level.
Riding Clinic was aimed at providing true experience of Racing Instinct and Unmatched Performance to young biking enthusiasts. To make their experience more exciting, the YZF R15 were modified with Daytona Racing Kit. The kit includes Racing Exhaust system, Racing Engine Control Unit, High Lift Cam Shaft and Petal shaped large Disc. Yamaha had launched these racing kits 2009 in India and are available at Yamaha’s selected dealers across India.
Yamaha FZ1 Headed To India
Yamaha India will launch the big naked street bike by next month. Yamaha's flagship naked bike the FZ1 is all set for an Indian debut in the coming month. According to sources Yamaha FZ1 will be priced in the region of Rs. 8 to 10lakh which will be similar to the competition from Honda and Suzuki as both manufacturers have bikes like CB1000R (Honda) and Bandit (Suzuki) priced in the same region.
Apparently Yamaha only has big bikes that are priced above Rs.12lakh. The FZ1 will make Yamaha more competitive in the big bike game. Yamaha India will be importing the FZ1 in the form of CBU's from Japan but some sources speculate that the company might choose the Semi-Knocked Down route in order to make the Yamaha FZ1 an enticing deal.
Yamaha SZ Bike Tour Comes From Four Corners of India To Kochi
20 selected bikers riding Yamaha bikes from the four corners of India, riding across various places, covering more than 12,000 kms across 17 states and 67 cities in 32 days have reached Kochi to rock the huge funfare and festivals. Renowned singer Benny Dayal along with some other fun actions put together welcomed the riders and marked the culmination of the tour. All this is taking place as part of the Yamaha SZ Tour – the bike which is designed to tour long distances.
The Yamaha SZ Tour was flagged off on the 15th of September from Yamaha’s plant at Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh. It was a month long expedition in which 20 riders (10 each from Team A and Team B) covered the length and breadth of the country across 67 cities in 17 states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Yamaha dealers in all 67 cities had given a warm welcome to the riders of the tour.
The tour also promoted Yamaha’s safe riding education program – Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) for inculcating safe riding habits and raising traffic safety awareness among local communities. Yamaha Motors India has launched the FZS Midnight Special Limited Edition to commemorate the festive season. The FZS Midnight Special Limited Edition gets additional golden color graphics and new midnight black shade. Yamaha SZ Tour Begins
Yamaha India today flagged off its SZ tour from Greater Noida to promote its new 150cc commuter bikes SZ and SZ-X which is also aimed at spreading alertness about safe riding behavior The tour is a 30 day pan India assembly which after passing through 67 cities across 17 states (Delhi,Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujrat,Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Goa, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh) will finish at Cochin on 17th October 2010. The tour consists of 20 riders separated into two groups of 10 each who will take different routes to reach the purpose Along their way, Yamaha dealers from respective cities will welcome the riders upon their visit. According to Yamaha India's chief executive and MD Yukimine Tsuji, the pan India rally is an challenge to attract a wider viewers (read potential customers) by displaying the bike's styling, good mileage and comfy ride. The entire distance of the tour is over 12000km.

4th Leg Of Yamaha R15 Race Concludes
With the Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship nearing its end with just one round to go, the fourth leg of the league concluded at the Madras Motor Race Track, Chennai with bikers blazing the track with gusto and thrill reloaded. The racing track was set abuzz with roaring excitement as hordes of youngsters turned up to witness three days of biking expertise shown by the participants. Yamaha had organized this championship as part of SIDVIN-FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2010. This year, Yamaha R15 One Make Race Championship was open to participation from both Yamaha and Non-Yamaha customers.
G.R. Santosh emerged the winner in Race 1 in the novice category while Bharat Raj J and Sai Kishore bagged the second and third spot respectively. In Race 2 of the same category, Arun J Pillai took the first spot, G R Santosh grabbed the second and Bharat Raj J captured the third position. R Deepak stole the show by winning both races in the expert section. Sudhakar Kesavan came second in Race 1 in the expert section while D. Dinesh Kumar came third. D. Dinesh Kumar showed his dexterity and came second in Race 2 of this category and Shayam Shankar took the third position in the podium.

Yamaha India stops the production of G5, Gladiator and Alba
Today Yamaha India announced the close the production of of G5 and Alba (both 106cc) and Gladiator.Also Yamaha made it clear that the models won't be upgraded to BSIII norms. Yamaha launched the three new bikes in last week for the Indian Market, so company want to concentrate more on the new launched, said by Yamaha India.
