Ajanta Group to Launch a New Electric Car
Ajanta group manufactures electric bikes and scooters in India under the Oreva brand. It is now set to launch its own electric car in India. It has announced to launch its own Oreva Green car that runs on electric fuel. It currently manufactures its bikes in Morbi in Gujarat and shall soon roll out its electric car from its same manufacturing unit. Tata has recently announced to shift manufacturing base for its small car, Tata Nano, to Sanand in Gujarat. Now this new car has become the talk of Rajkot, a city in Gujarat that lies near Morbi.
"We don't have any competition with 'Nano'. This is our future product as we have seen electric bikes as our future products. We see electric cars also as future products for India and we are working on it. The research and development is going on. This car will go on battery and it will be a completely Indian made battery operated car," said Rakesh Nathwani, National Marketing Head of Oreva Group. He did not divulge the price of its new car but states that the car will be able to run upto 200-250 kms in one time charge.
