Audi India: Sales up 95% in February 2009
Audi India has reported a hike of 95% in its sales in February this year, at 113 cars, compared to 58 cars sold in February last year. Audi sold 1,050 cars in India in 2008, as compared to 349 units in 2007 - a growth of 201%.
While Audi has a long way to go before it can catch up with BMW and Mercedes-Benz in the Indian market, the German carmaker is trying hard to get there as quickly as possible. The current Audi range in India comprises of the A4, A6 and A8 sedans, the Q7 SUV, the TT sportscar and the R8 supercar.
Audi, which has 12 dealerships across the country (in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai and Pune), is looking at increasing the number of its dealerships and will also launch new models, including the Q5 SUV, in the country later this year.
