Ferrari Unveils 599 Roadster
Ferrari has revealed 599 roadster at Paris auto show, Called Sa Aperta, the new model is designed to give tribute to famous styling house Pininfarina, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary. Just 80 piece of the supercar will be built, but Ferrari says that all are sold already, following the Sa Aperta’s look at a private viewing at the recent Pebble Beach Concurs in California. A final price will be announced at Paris, but Ferrari sources say it will be priced around 2.5 crores.
Sa Aperta features a lower-slung front windscreen and lower ride height, and 2 sleek side fins that are integrated into the rollover hoops. The Ferrari Sa Aperta generates max power of 661bhp. In terms of power it is very close to ultra-extreme 599 GTO. Sa Aperta features what the company calls "a light soft top which has been designed for bad weather conditions”. Ferrari also claims that despite the loss of the roof, the Sa Aperta is very strong in terms of stiffness which is similar to that of berlinetta", and that there is "a negligible weight difference" after the work on the chassis structure. The letters S and A have been taken from these two names - Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina.
