Hyundai will offer an electric car in New Zealand from November
Hyundai is going to launch a full electric car already this November in New Zealand. The plug-in electric car will be based on the Getz and according to Hyundai it is the first electric vehicle for sale in any volumes in New Zealand.
It was developed by an engineer Ross Blade, and belongs to the retro-fit electric car segment, meaning that the batteries and electric motor are fitted to the car after the petrol engine is taken out. Production is expected to reach 200 units per year and it will be located in New Zealand.
Electric Getz will have a top speed of 120 km/h (74 mph) and a driving range between 120-200 km (74-124 miles) on a single charge.
