Mahindra’s Passenger car sales up 2.7% in February 2009

Mahindra & Mahindra has reported a 2.7% hike in passenger car sales in February this year - the company sold 15,728 units (including 14,720 units of M&M utility vehicles and 1,008 units of the Mahindra Renault Logan), compared to 15,313 units in February last year.

The recently launched Xylo MPV did well, with M&M selling 2,287 units in February, but M&M LCVs fared poorly, with domestic sales going down 37.2% and exports declining 76%. Mahindra's total sales in February, including passenger cars and LCVs, stood at 19,894 units, up 1.1% compared to the 19,674 units sold in February 2008.
