2012 Mercedes C-Class Details Revealed

German luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz will introduce its face-lifted 2012 C-Class sedan at the 2011 Detroit car Show in January 2011 and will begin shipping of cars to U.S. dealers next summer. The car will arrive at the same time in India, too. But, the company has revealed some preliminary details of the car ahead of its Detroit Auto Show premier. According to Mercedes Benz, the revamped C-Class has 11 different models both petrol and diesel with power ranging from 120 to 306 hp.



Either a standard manual six-speed transmission or a seven-speed automatic transmission 7G-Tronic Plus can be chosen. Also, all the upgraded C-Class models are to be offered with rear-wheel drive and a start-stop function. It gets a new C250 CDI diesel variant as well as a new V6 gasoline engine for the Mercedes C350 Blue competence that can churn out 306 hp and 370 Nm. Despite the 14 hp and 5 Nm increase from the prior model, the fuel consumption is claimed to be 31% lower than the previous one. The front and rear end of the popular Mercedes sedan have been improved with a more distinctive design. The interior is now emphasized by the stylish new dashboard, which features a premium, fine-grain finish and stylish trim elements, as well as a high-resolution color display in the instrument cluster.
