Mercedes Benz SLS AMG E-Cell to go into production
We all love low riding, glittery sports cars. Mercedes Benz SLS AMG is one of them fashionable cars straight from teen dream land. The new SLS AMG with its 6300 cc V8, ticks almost all the right boxes when compared to its rivals. Mercedes Benz showcased an electric version of the gull-winged sports automobile recently. Before the green party jumps out of their seats with joy I’d better recap them that it was just a concept and Merc had no plans to put it into production. Well, the green party can rejoice though as the car will soon be available at a Mercedes Benz outlet near you. Mercedes Benz has announced that they will place the car into production. So, what exactly is making the vegetarians among us happy? you’d think. The Mercedes AMG SLS E-Cell will not have the usual 6300 cc V8 petrol engine, instead will run on four electric motors that produce 392 kW and 880 Nm and can do 0 to 100 km/h in around 4 secs. said Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, at the Mercedes press release. "The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-CELL is the most technically advanced super sports car in the 125-year history of the automobile, and shows just how fascinating electromobility can be. Our customers will be able to order it from their Mercedes-Benz dealers from 2013 onwards,”
