Tata Motors Gifts Nano to India’s First Woman Press Photographer

Tata gifted its world famous car Nano to 96 year old Homai Vyarawala who is "first Woman photographer' staying currently in Vadodara. Homai sold her 55 year old Fiat car to buy a brand new Nano. Respecting her passion for the car, the company gifted the car to her after she sold it to a vintage car lover in Mumbai.

The Fiat owned by Homai Vyarawala was originally imported from Italy 55 years ago and shipped via sea route. However, the car was irreparable now and she was finding it difficult to keep it. Homai has been the first woman photographer and her albums hold pictures of late prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, late Indira Gandhi, late Morarji Desai and other dignitaries and foreign dignitaries visiting the country.

Tata Motors has already begun bookings for the car that will end on 25 April 2009. The company will choose the first batch of owners of the car via lucky draw within 60 days after the bookings close.
