Tata-owned JLR to get £27 million from UK Govt
The Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover will soon be getting about £27 million from the UK government, which would allow the beleaguered British car company to develop a new car that's 'greener' than the company's current models.
The money given by the British government would, however, cover only a small part of the total costs involved, since JLR is looking at spending about £400 million on its 'green car' project.
With dozens of car companies building 'green' cars on their own steam, we really don't see why any government should dole out large sums of money to any carmaker to help it develop these so-called green cars.
