Volvo India Launched XC60 In Hyderabad
Volvo Auto India launched it’s new mid-size SUV XC60 in Hyderabad yesterday. The new XC60 equipped with best class luxury, convenience and safety technology. Powered by 2.4-litre five-cylinder diesel engine which generate maximum power of 205bhp with minimum torque of 420Nm. Volvo claims that the new XC60 is the safest Volvo among the others that are currently sold in India. Volvo XC60 is priced at Rs 40.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Hyderabad). Sandeep Narayan, Director (Marketing and PR), Volvo Auto, said, “XC60 is a perfect embodiment of our brand’s core attributes of safety, comfort, quality, Scandinavian design and innovation. We are sure that in India, Volvo XC60 will provide us a competitive edge in its segment.”
The Volvo XC60 is a CBU and will come with the fourth-generation Haldex clutch to transmit power to the rear wheels, when it senses loss of traction on the front wheels. This same system is used in the Skoda Superb V6, Skoda Yeti and the Land Rover Freelander 2. It will come with three active chassis modes – Comfort, Sport and Advanced. The other characteristic is the turn with steering headlamps which will increase the visibility at night. “The pre-booking of the first batch of XC60 bears testimony to the faith our customers have for the Volvo brand, Narayan said, adding 90 cars have already booked. “We are looking at 15 to 18 per cent size of the luxury car segment,” he said.
