Maruti Suzuki will launch the Kizashi on the 28th Jan 2011
Maruti Suzuki will launch the Kizashi on the 28th of January, 2011. This will be the company’s first foray into the D-segment market which has been dominated by the likes of Honda and Skoda. The Kizashi features All Wheel Drive, 18-inch alloy wheels, Electronic Stability Program, 8-airbags, optional Rockford Fosgate 425 watts speakers and 6-speed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The Kizashi might not feature the Maruti badge at all and will be branded as a Suzuki only.
2011 Maruti Suzuki Swift launch in Late 2011
People wanting to purchase the 2011 Maruti Suzuki have some bad news in store. Maruti Suzuki will not launch the 201
1 Maruti Swift anytime before the end of 2011. Now that is almost a year away and that definitely isn’t something a lot of people who have been keenly waiting for the 2011 Swift would want to hear. But here’s something that would cheer Swift fans in India. Maruti Suzuki is setting up to shift Maruti Swift production to it’s Manesar plant, which going forward, could decrease the long and frustrating waiting period prospective Swift buyers face currently.
Along with shifting of the Swift’s production to Manesar, the production of the Maruti Suzuki DZire too would be reoriented to Maruti’s Gurgaon manufacturing unit in a bid to reduce the waiting periods. While all this certainly is good news on the waiting period front, we at ICB, strongly feel that Maruti should hasten the arrival of the 2011 Swift as that is one car that a lot of people are really interested to have a test drive in. Meanwhile the 2011 Maruti Suzuki Swift is estimated to usher in newer engine options in both petrol and diesel versions along with more interior space and an automatic transmission as an option.
Maruti Suzuki Plans Locally Made Kizashi

Maruti Suzuki plans to go premium in India, even though it failed to capture the premium SUV market with the Grand Vitara. The company will launch the Maruti Kizashi early next year and intents to manufacture it locally to keep costs down. This would mean that the Kizashi will be priced around Rs. 17 lakhs making it a competitive alternative to the likes of the Honda Accord and Skoda Laura. However the made in Kizashi is still take a couple of years away as Maruti has serious capacity constraints at its Manesar facility.

Nissan to source more Pixos from Maruti
Nissan has indicated that it will be sourcing 35,000 more Pixo (rebadged, slightly different A-Star) cars from Maruti Suzuki for sale in European markets. The initial agreement between Nissan and Maruti Suzuki was for the supply of 50,000 Pixos to Nissan by Maruti Suzuki. But, due to an increased demand after scrappage schemes being offered to dispose off old cars and get new ones, Nissan is facing a shortage of Pixos for sale.
The recent alliance between VW and Suzuki could affect Nissan's procurement of the Pixo from Maruti Suzuki . Nissan will need a similarly sized car to replace the Pixo, perhaps from another manufacturer. It could source the Twingo from partner Renault, re-badge it and sell it as the new Pixo, given that the current Nissan Pixo and Renault Twingo share almost the same dimensions. Also, the Twingo has a possibility of hitting Indian shores as well, given Renault's plans to launch small hatchbacks here.

Maruti Grand Vitara to be Assembled in India
Maruti Grand Vitara has continuously witnessed falling sales in past few months. Maruti intends to arrest the falling sales figures of its SUV model by bringing its advanced version to India. It currently imports the SUV from its Japanese production facility as a completely built unit which makes the model quite expensive. Now the company is contemplating its options to assemble the model in India itself to offer more features at extremely competitive prices.
"The company is seriously considering bringing in an advanced version of Vitara into India, mainly to arrest the falling sales of the SUV," a source said. Maruti is in talks with auto component manufacturers to supply the parts for the model. An advanced version of the model will be introduced in 2010 and Maruti will decide upon its assembling plans for Grand Vitara after assessing the sales figures of the new model. Grand Vitara is currently available at Rs. 16.67 - Rs 17.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and comes with 2.4L petrol engine with both manual and automatic transmission.

They have plonked new 1.6 VVT engine in SX4 so that it complies with the strict emission norms which will be in effect from April, 2011 in 11 cities in India. The new engine is a 1600cc VVT(Variable Valve Timing) powerplant producing 104 Bhp which is 2 Bhp up from previous 102 Bhp. Maruti has also given some cosmetic design upgrades to the exterior and interiors to make it look more muscular and smart in comparison to Fiat Linea and Honda City.
The New engine is a 1600cc VVT(Variable Valve Timing) powerplant producing maximum power of 104 Bhp at 5600 rpm with maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4100 rpm. The VVT or Variable Valve Timing allows the timing of the intake valve to be changed while the engine is in operation, thereby ensuring that there is never a shortage or wastage of power.
