Ashok Leyland sales down 52.2% in March 2009
Ashok Leyland has reported a decline of 52.2% in its commercial vehicle sales in March this year, at 5,112 units, as compared to 10,696 units in March 2008. The company's domestic sales stood at 4,441 units in March 2009, as against 9,541 units in March last year. Exports were down from 1,155 units in March 2008, to 671 units in March this year.
ALL also reports a decline of 70.77% in total domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles in March this year, at 2,346 units, down from 8,027 units in the year-ago period. The company fared better with LCVs, with sales dipping from 79 units in March 2008 to 75 units in March this year.
