Ashok Leyland: Sales down 57% in February 2009
Commercial vehicles manufacturer, Ashok Leyland has reported a 57% drop in its sales in February this year. The company sold 3,245 units (including exports of 576 units) in February 2009, compared to 7,501 units (including exports of 677 units) in February 2008.
The production was down from 8,218 units in February last year, to 2,028 units in February this year - a decline of 75%. However, as a small consolation, the company's sales in February this year were about 33% higher than January 2009 sales, which stood at 2,444 units.
