Exports up by 61.88% in November
While the automotive industry in India registered a massive decline in domestic sales in November this year, exports, which were up by 61.88% in the same month, are bringing some much-needed good cheer to the industry.
According to figures released by SIAM, the total number of vehicles exported from India in November this year stood at 146,337 units, as against 90,398 units in the same month last year. Hyundai India did particularly well, with exports going up from 9,898 units in November 2007, to 28,500 units in November 2008. Motorcycle exports from India, at 85,549 units, witnessed a jump of 50.78% over the 56,739 units exported in November last year.
